I like your animated scenarios to inform, remind and redirect violent outburst. I would like to offer a word of advise… offer a positive instead of a negative.
“It is not okay to hit. I can tell that you like playing on the playground and the next time we come I will give you a two minute warning before it’s time to leave.”
Also… “If you don’t settle down…” settle down means what to a child???
with children you have to be very very clear. i.e… You may not hit. They may need you to model what it means to settle down. Like you said… acknowledge their feelings and address what you mean by settle down. Is it that they’re crying or tantrumming… if so then tell them, They need to that behavior. Hopefully I’ve got my thinking across. I have been working with little ones for 20 yrs and just wanted to humbly share a few proven techniques.
